Day 7

The house is done and has been revealed to the family! Thank you to all who made it possible. Check back often as we will post updates to the site as they are available.

Day 6

The reveal is tomorrow! The final touches are being added today for the reveal on Sunday between noon and 3 p.m.

Day 5

Most of Friday’s work took place inside the home as crews prepared to hand the keys over to the design team at 5 p.m. so furniture could be moved in. Landscapers bustled around the house getting trees and shrubs in place. Everything is looking less like a construction site and more like a home. Crews are working around the clock to prepare the house for the arrival of the Nutsch family on Sunday. Photos for Friday are up in the gallery so have a look.

Day 4

Crews continue to work through the sticky mud and brisk north wind. Bricklayers began applying stone to the exterior this morning as the drywall was finished up inside. Trimming experts will begin there work as flooring goes in this afternoon. Instead of waiting for the mud to dry, construction equipment scraped it away and replaced it with dry soil in order to pave a driveway in front of the home. Day 3

Crews began framing at 5 a.m., just 3 hours after the foundation was poured. Over 150 workers hustled through the morning to complete the shell of the house by 11 a.m. The home has all the windows and doors placed. The roof was finished in a race against the rain. Crews continue to work on the interior, finishing up electrical and plumbing. As the well is being drilled and the yard pond filled, the finishing touches are completed on the separate garage/work area behind the house. Work will continue through the night and into tomorrow as the volunteers push through to build a new home and a new life for the Nutsch family. View the images from today here. You can also view a 360 degree virtual tour here.

Day 2

Construction begins! A sea of volunteers converge upon the site to begin work on the house. Meanwhile, a concert by country music star Martina McBride, with an appearance by Ty Pennington, helps things get kicked off. Take a look at a few of the images from today.

Day 1

Set-up begins for ABC cast and crew as they prepare to tell the Nutsch family’s story to all of America. View some images of the staging area as we prepare for the week of work ahead. Actual construction will commence tomorrow.
